With the B&W Turnoverball underbed gooseneck trailer hitch you get the best of both worlds. When you go to tow, the Turnoverball creates a sturdy, dependable connection with your gooseneck trailer. And when you're done towing, you can stow the ball upside down in the hitch to get full bed access and a clean appearance.
The durable steel hitch ball included with the Turnoverball system secures in the hitch with a sturdy, 5/8" thick steel pin that is incorporated into the hitch. To lock the ball in place, drop it into the hitch hole in the bed of your truck. Then rotate the handle in your truck bed until the latch engages. When the latch is engaged, the spring-loaded pin will be inserted all the way through the base of the hitch ball, forming a strong, solid connection and ensuring absolute security when you're towing.
When you're done towing, remove the hitch ball by using the in-bed handle to disengage the latch. Remove the ball, flip it upside down, and drop it back into the ball hole of the hitch. Then reengage the latch to secure the stowed ball in place.
Unlike typical gooseneck balls - which have round bases - the Turnoverball hitch ball is designed with a square base. This makes latching the ball in the hitch easier because the base won't rotate inside of the hitch like a round base might, so lining the pin up is a snap. The base of the ball also fits tightly within the ball hole during storage. Because only the corners of the base contact the sides of the socket, any dirt or grime that gets into the hitch will fall through the socket, thus helping to prevent any buildup that could cause the ball to seize up in the hitch.
Simple, Custom Installation
This hitch is custom designed for your vehicle. The included mounting brackets bolt to existing holes in your truck's frame. While some modification is required - you will need to cut a 4" diameter hole in your bed for the hitch ball and drill holes for the built-in safety chain loops - there is no need to weld onto or to drill into your frame.
B&W makes it easy to tow just about anything. With the many adapters and accessories available, the Turnoverball can be made to work with almost any gooseneck trailer. Hitch balls are available that have a built-in rise, an offset, and even a different connection type. Add on the Companion fifth-wheel hitch - which attaches directly to the Turnoverball with no other parts required - and you can tow your fifth-wheel trailer. Even a truck bed utility rack is available so that you can easily haul ladders and lumber with the load placed on the hitch (and therefore your truck's frame) instead of your bed rails.

I love the fact you can unlock the ball in the bed without jumping in and out. Just turn the key provided and turn the ball over. If I replace this truck down the road, I will be ordering this hitch again. Great hitch, strongly recommend.

This is my third B&W a d as always a great product. Ordering from retailer was a good experience with no issues. There was a huck up in the install with the exhaust hitting the hitch framework but ither than
That it was pretty seamless.
The fit of the assembly is good however some of fasteners were missing; 2-1/2” x 2 1/4” bolts, 2-1/2” flat washers (45 minute trip to hardware store). Snap ring not installed on bottom of the locking mechanism (very hard to install it after the assembly is in the truck and another trip to the hardware store for snap ring pliers)
Straight forward instructions.My son and I did it in about three hours.

Works great. The ball release isn’t in the wheel well like it it in most trucks, for my 18 ram 1500 the release is in the bed.
The B&W turnover ball hitch is worth every penny! It's built solid and fits perfectly! The instructions are detailed and easy to follow! I've been using it in my Ram 1500 to haul a 3 horse slant load trailer and couldn't be happier! I absolutely love the relocation of the ball release to the inside of the bed!
I have a crew cab, so I'm going to purchase a B&W extension so that I can have full clearance in tight turns and would suggest ordering that with your hitch.

A year later, I am still completely satisfied! I havent had a single issue out of the hitch. Its still worth every penny.
still waiting to get it installed because part of the kit was missing when it arrived. working with an agent to resolve the problem, but here I sit with a $XXX hitch that can't be installed. Not very happy.
Talk about putting 10 pounds of crap in a 5 pound bag! Engineering for this goose neck hitch is excellent. Everything fits perfectly and the instructions are very good. One word of advice, where the instructions direct you to remove the plug fasteners holding the wiring harness on the rear cross member, remove them. If you cut them off it leaves a small piece of plastic protruding which causes the mounting holes in the hitch to misalign.
The hitch can be installed by one person but after installing mine I highly recommend two. The instructions suggest a motor lift, overhead lift or similar to lift and hold the center section of the hitch in place. I would say that it is essential. The first thing that you will do is drill the 4 inch hole in the bed, when all parts are in place you will need to pull the center section up into the hole that you drilled and then tighten the other parts to the center section.
You will need a couple of things that most people don't have laying around, two hole saws, a 4" and a 3/4". You should also consider picking up a 24" long 7/16" bit. You will need this for drilling the pilot holes for the safety chain attachments from underneath the truck bed.
An excellent product with instructions written for the first time installer in mind.
I liked the fact that the lever to release the the ball so you can turn it over is in the bed instead inside the wheel well like the other products were. The instructions were right on the money as well never liked when the instructions direct you to measure and drill blindly, however these measurements were right on the money. I wanted a tight fit so there was no slop... selected a hole saw that was just over the o.d. of the hitch... it fit perfectly. Kudos to the engineers for getting the measurements right.
Installed in my 2016 Ram 1500 with 5'7" box EcoDiesel, with Ram Boxes and factory air ride suspension .
First off, I love working with etrailer, the support staff and the Q&A posted to each item is extremely helpful, and if it wasn't for the installation video it would have taken me much longer to install this hitch. Not to mention the quick delivery, and the ability to track the order.
I am a pretty competent mechanic, being a farmer we change all our own fluids and take care of most repairs on the farm ourselves, equipment and vehicles. With that being said, I would find it nearly impossible (not saying it can't be done) to be able to install this in 3 hours. if I were to do it again I would plan for 5 hours. Again, if it wasn't for the video, it would have taken much longer.
While installing I did have to pull out more of the electrical and air line clips than I thought I had to, in order to not have anything pinched. I also was able to maneuver the air line in between the front rail and the rear rail of the hitch. After hitch was installed I did place a zip tie around the air line to keep it fairly secure.
The instillation was very difficult, to get the bolts started (I did, run bolts through the threads prior to putting together under the truck) and tightened. I would say the toughest part was getting the torque wrench on every thing, as it is very tight under there, especially on the driver side. On that side the brake lines and the fuel tank always seemed to be in the way.
One issue I did have, is cutting the 3/4" hole in the bed. the instructions state that the 3/4" hole is 4-3/4" from the center of the 4" hole. I guess I assumed that measurement was center to center. When I placed the center section under the truck and raised it up to the bed, I found that I was about 3/4" off from the mark So I drilled a second 3/4" hole. Disappointed, that there is an extra hole in the bed, I'll have to do some research on how to fill the extra hole in.
I have 5 hours into the installation, all I have remaining is putting the wheel well liners back in and re mounting the spare tire.
The hitch fits very tightly in between the frame and the bed, it will fit, trust me!
First and foremost, the B&W is the Rolls Royce of Gooseneck hitches. It installs well, and is stout! No need for any performance or quality worries.
Install was done in an afternoon, if you have a lift it would cut your time in half. Rolling around underneath the truck is hard on even a 46 year old, that's not B&W's fault! Very nice product! Thank you!
I have used this hitch on about 20 trips with our 5th wheel and it is an awesome, simple clean, strong, solution to towing a 5th wheel. Our truck is a 2018 Ram 1500 Short (5’7” long box with the Ram boxes on each side) . Worked perfect.
Would buy it again. That says it all.
I’ve been using this model for a year now. Pulling 40’ flatbed or 3 horse slant with living quarters regularly. Besides normal wear on the ball unit, rest of the hitch is rust free. Would definitely recommend it for ease of installation and it’s continued performance since the first day using it.

Although I haven’t had the gooseneck hitch or the extender installed on my truck yet, I just want to respond to the customer service I received. I spoke with two different ladies over two days and they help me figure out which hitch I needed for my truck and were extremely helpful. I was told I would receive the hitch in about a week but it showed up two days later. I’m very happy with the company and would definitely use them again
Just installed in about 3.5 hours. Was kinda difficult just crawling around on the ground. Everything pieced together just fine, however, the driver side of the unit was kinda hard to put together, might've been my bigger gas tank. Thanks to the installation video it made it loads easier to understand. My 2013 Ram 1500 already hauled my 16' goose neck stock trailer around for the fun.
Great product!! Simple installation, perfect fit. Functions better than I anticipated and it is holding up to weekly use, very well.

Great hitch assembly, works very well.
In my application the OE turnover ball is of no value, 5.5" bed. Maybe an option to replace standard ball with 4" offset ball and save $40.00.
went together without any major issues. The only issue is that the bottom nut on the rear most bracket on the drivers side is tight up against the exhaust pipe. Will have to have a muffler shop figure out a way to get some clearance before the nut wears a hole tin the pipe.
